We Needed a few hours of resting before catching an early flight out of Auckland. This was a perfect option for the location with free shuttle services. Pls note, you need to show your booking confirmation ( with the check in and check out dates) to the bus driver on your way to the hotel. This is very important the driver demand for it!! The restaurant onsite was very helpful -closed at 9:30 pm.

Called the 'City of Sails' due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbour, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly offers a blast!
Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.
Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 192 metres!
Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

I lived in Auckland previously for about 10 years.
I lived in Auckland previously for about 10 years. So I know the city well. Traffic in this city is terrible, so you might want to avoid leaving your accommodation early in the morning or driving around from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays. It is a very convenient place for shopping, but it is not safe in some parts. t is best to avoid staying in the western and southern parts of Auckland if possible.

Dining excellent and service impeccable at new Queens restaurant at 1 Queen Street. Location of accommodation excellent and walking to appointment within range, however to get anywhere else, using Uber is a great way to travel given the traffic woes and changes in traffic flow layout since last visiting Auckland.

We were in Auckland for our daughter's Master's Graduation Ceremony so didn't really explore Auckland too much on this visit.
However the harbour area is pleasant for a walk and the new Commercial Bay Shopping Centre is of a very high standard and looks really impressive. There are many eateries in there, in addition to many high end shops.

Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, is a vibrant metropolis nestled between two natural harbours, offering a blend of modern skyscrapers, lush green spaces, and a rich cultural tapestry. Thank you, Copilot!
Fantastic stay at Aarangi Motel. Beautiful large clean room, just 100m from a lovely beach, bars and bus stop to the city centre ( buses every 15 minutes) Despite the weather being very hot and humid the room was beautifully airy and we rarely needed to use the two fans provided. Veronica was a great host and, nothing was too much trouble. With access to Auckland CBD just a 15 minute bus ride away I think we would always stay here in preference to a city hotel / apartment. Thank you very much Team Aarangi, you made our stay superb
Friendly, accommodating staff. Terrific location with access to all the cafes, places of interest in the local community. Great dining at the hotel restaurant with loads of atmosphere. Wonderful view over the water and so close to the ferry to Auckland city. Easy to watch the world go by or check out the local area. Great museum, walks up Mt Victoria with spectacular views, funky local cafes and chocolate shop on Lia fab bookstore. The library is a testament to beautiful design and creating creative spaces.
Reasonably cheap and comfy for a place in Auckland's CBD. I wouldn't underestimate this place as an option for Auckland accommodation, especially if you're on a tight budget but want to experience the sights of Central Auckland. Nice, quaint and private rooms with well-furnished and clean en suites. Beds are comfortable and usual hotel amenities are well catered for. Check-in and check-out self service is available which I thought was quite neat.
Dispite a few nitpicks I was pleased with my visit.
Great place to stay if arriving late at night - we were also offered a later check-out (at 11 AM instead of 10 AM). We walked from the international flights terminal with our luggage on an airport trolley - easy!
Very friendly staff; can leave luggage for a couple of hours if needed. A kettle and tea and instant coffee in the room - very convenient. The bathroom and shower are spacious - not the cramped usual style at ibis budget hotels. Comfortable beds and decent space in the room.
This was the night of the Auckland flood when we were bumped from a flight and then had another hotel give away a room that we had booked. We were very grateful to be able to get a room at the Holiday Inn that would accommodate 3 adults. The hotel was very clean and had very comfortable beds. Big windows in the room looked out over the city - a great view. It was surprisingly quiet. The breakfast that was included in the tariff was ample and had a good selection.
Situated in Auckland CBD next to Sky Tower this hotel is as central as it gets. Transport from/to airport is easy with Uber. I reccon the hotel was built in the eighties and got a charm from that period. By that time this 14 story building must have been one of the highest in the neighborhood. The full English breakfast is well done. The rooms are tidy and well looked after. They leave messages if they cant tidy for instance the bed of some reason. Good!
I did like the parking. There seemed to be a reasonable driveway to drive down and plenty of room to turn your car around etc. I liked how it was situated somewhat near the airport so was able to get the shuttle to the airport easily as it came and stopped at the hotel reception at certain times that u can find on their website and when you are booking the room. The room was pretty spacious for auckland and probably reflects the price well.
Good room with all the amenities we expected. The hotel is located very close to Auckland Domain, a big park with a very nice museum. Auckland city centre is a 30 min walk away, which for us was perfect as we like to do things on foot. Also, it was nice that the hotel is located in a quiet area, away from all the noise and chaos of the big city. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much.
This a gem of a location to stay in Auckland. Easy access secure garage parking. Absolutely clean. Comfortable furnishings. More than we needed for space, but price and location were excellent. Amazing views of the harbor and city. Safe keycard access. Numerous restaurants and shops nearby. Host communicated well and helped with questions promptly. Would definitely stay here again.
This property was VERY convenient for us as we needed to overnight (on short notice, due to flight cancellation from Vancouver) in Auckland airport area. The next morning we picked up a pre booked vehicle at OMEGA cars; an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel.
There was a "yellow bus" complimentary shuttle from Auckland airport.
TERRIFIC breakfast! Go early for best and hot selection.
It was a very nice hotel at a reasonable price! Close to the airport and it takes approx 20 minutes to travel to the CBD via uber. I really love the self check-in and check-out service as it is just efficient. Has never seen one before in any hotels but it's a quick process rather than having to queue up at the counter.
The room is spacious and comfortable.
Great location, out of the city centre but 15-30mins from CBD, DownTown Ferry and other great locations. RIght by a Rose Garden and park and a generally safe area. Close to great restaurants and bars too. Staff were really helpful and they accommodated last minute changes with ease and matched prices previously quoted. I would go back for sure :-)
The hotel had everything we needed for a single night's accommodation near Auckland airport at the start of a New Zealand holiday. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The breakfast was very good and just what we needed to start our journeys. The hotel also had ample parking available which was useful as we had a hire car.
Awesome customer service catered to my request complimentary cereal n biscuits n extras in the fridge good value for your money $20 car parks cheapest I’ve come across nice tidy clean comfy apartment have used most hotels in Auckland and this will now be my go to definitely recommend it
We stayed at the ibis Budget Auckland Airport Hotel just for 6 hours before our flight next morning 8am. Check in process was quick and easy. Though i found the rooms to be small but it is sufficient for a couple with 1 kid. Room was clean, quiet and tidy.
They were very responsive and very accomodating of my request for late check in. The hotel is modern, clean , well appointed, lots of amenities in the room, quiet, close to the airport and to airport parking: in short, perfect.
Nice hotel in a prime location with great rooms, great bathrooms, good onsite food, and convenient valet parking (for a fee). It's a comfortable base for exploring Auckland.
Location in between Auckland airport and city centre, short distance of driving to both directions.
Clean enough to make us comfortable
